VR Experience for HTC Vive
Walmart wanted to explore how VR could be leveraged to enhance the consumer experience through contextual shopping. We needed discover what it would look like for a customer to actually use the products they are shopping for.
We created a shopping experience that educates consumers on specific fishing products and transports them to different environments. Consumers get a better sense of how the equipment operates and an idea of its physical size.
The core of the experience is led by a narrator, who helps guide the user as he details the underwater ecosystem and recommended products to test.
With compelling environments where users actually test out real products, they gain confidence of the products they are buying in their intended context.
Shopping should be fun. By gamifying the fishing experience, we were able to showcase reals products while making the customer’s experience unforgettable.
Our experience showcased the realm of possibilities that lie at the intersection of VR and e-commerce. VR provides a unique opporuntity to education, personalize, gamify, and upsell products in such a unique, tangible way. Once the project was completed, we had the opportunity to showcase the experience at Store No. 8’s Innov8 event.
